With more than 23 years in senior management roles, Jonathan Kunkle has excelled in driving a customer-first attitude within organizations. He has served the mortgage industry for 12 years, joining LenderLive in 2008 when the company purchased Guardian Mortgage Documents. Since 2001, and in his role as president, Kunkle's innovation has permeated the GuardianDocs culture where each team member is empowered to find more efficient and effective solutions to each client's unique business needs. When he led sales he was the driver behind the implementation and architectural design for GuardianDocs' most complex solutions for some of the industry's largest lenders, including JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, CitiBank and CitiMortgage, Principal Bank, HSBC, and First Magnus. Kunkle also led GuardianDocs mortgage closing coordination unit, now a component offering within LenderLive Outsource Services.
Kunkle's passion is solving the most complex issues. He was a key player in addressing the mortgage industry’s collapse by quickly adapting the tools within GuardianDocs Technology Solutions (GTS) platform to assist a top three bank's loss mitigation programs. As part of that, Jonathan led the GuardianDocs team in providing the very first HomeAffordable loan modification trial plans to troubled borrowers. He also helped implement the document management tools that enabled loan servicers to absorb and quickly respond to more documentation received for a loan modification than was ever generated in the origination of those same loans.
He is also an expert in the documentation used in traditional mortgage lending as well as home equity lending through HELOCs or fixed-rate programs.
Kunkle served on the National Home Equity Mortgage Association information technology committee from 2003 to 2006. He is an active member of MISMO and the MBA RESTECH committees.
